New, moving or expanding: Waite Park gains new dollar store

WAITE PARK A new dollar store is opening in Waite Park.

Dollar Avenue opened Dec. 18 at 230 Second Ave. S in the Marketplace Annex in Waite Park.

Owners Russ Benson and Anna Fradette said they wanted to bring an independently owned dollar store to the west side of the St. Cloud area.

The 3,000-square-foot retailer sells a variety of items including gift bags, food and cleaning supplies.

Merchandise for the store will change weekly, Fradette said.

The store also plans to do special orders for customers who want to buy items in bulk, Fradette said.

Dollar Avenue also hopes to focus on carrying high-demand items such as bingo dobbers or special foods, Benson said.

The business has six employees.
